Chairman - Dennis Bense

Dennis Bense was elected Chairman of the ND Retail Association at the annual NDRA / NDPMA joint board meeting in August. Bense has been on the board since 2003 serving as Vice Chairman for the past three years. He also serves on the NDRA/NDPMA investment committee.

A native of Long Prairie, MN, Bense holds a degree in Marketing from Moorhead State University. Dennis has been employed with Scheels for 22 years. During this time Bense has worked in numerous managerial positions. He was the assistant manager of the Sioux Falls store. He spent 13 years as manager of the company's Dakota Square location in Minot. Bense is currently managing the Kirkwood Mall Scheels store in Bismarck. The highlight of his retail experience was the opening of the new 100,000 square foot Kirkwood Store the summer of 2007. Bense said it was an exciting night seeing over 1,000 people come in for the grand opening and seeing the new shops and attractions.

Bense is excited about the opportunity to serve as the Chairman of NDRA. He is looking forward to working with the staff and membership in representing the retail industry throughout North Dakota.
